• I’m trying to use this in the short description and my result looks like this when switching from text editor to visual, then back again.

    <p>[raw]<br />
    This</p>
    <p>is</p>
    <p>a "test"!<br />
    [/raw]</p>

No, it probably wouldn’t work in that context. Also, the free version doesn’t support switching between visual/text modes, so that part wouldn’t work even with regular posts and pages.

Oh, I didn’t realize that. Is the Pro version a change from past versions? (I’ve probably been using this for a long time without realizing any changes).

Are you saying it only works with default posts/pages and not CPTs? I’m happy to pay for Pro if it does.

You don’t need the Pro version for CPT support – even the free version should work with most CPTs. However, if a CPT has multiple text fields, the shortcodes and filter settings will only work in the “post content” box or its equivalent. If the short product description is a custom field, Raw HTML won’t work there.

The main advantage of the Pro version is that you can switch between “Text” and “Visual” without the code inside [raw]...[/raw] tags being changed by the editor. While in the “Visual” editor, that code is displayed as an read-only <raw code> placeholder.
