Does this work for a club with multiple teams

So just to confirm, with SportPress can I create multiple teams within my client’s club for those different age groups and different genders, and multiple leagues for each of those teams to play in, all on the same site?

SportsPress uses the native WordPress framework to create teams, leagues etc.
Teams/Clubs, Events/Matches, League Tables and Player Lists are just Custom Post Types.
Leagues, Seasons and Venues are just Custom Taxonomies.

Long story short –> You can create as many teams as you want, either independand or with hierarchy (“children” of a Team/Club). You can also create as many leagues and seasons you want.

That’s great, thank you. I’ll probably be using your plugin.

sportpress works perfect for it. I made a “club” for each team f.e. teamU9, teamu10, team1, team2,…. but it can be done as 1 club too. Don’t know what the best option is but I used the first option because the list of players is smaller and easier to use in matches.

Indeed, both options work fine. Using child teams might work better if you have a custom theme, so you can make use of this hierarchy (showing the parent team on the child team, for example).
