I’ve been using this to go through a site and shrink all the PNG files on the site. In total the site only has 107 images, not all of which are PNG. I didn’t even finish the ~90 PNG images, and now it’s telling me I’ve reached my TinyPNG free-level API limit of 500. How could this be, when I’ve only resized maybe 80 images in total?

Something isn’t right here. What’s going on?

Hi Tevya – you are correct – the plugin uses multiple TinyPNG “credits” to compress each PNG image because WordPress automatically creates multiple sizes of each image. Unfortunately that eats up your free credits quickly.

Oh, that makes sense. I didn’t think about the smaller versions of each image. That makes sense, thanks!

    No problem!
