    Hi there
We have had memory issues on some websites lately, so have cut back on certain plugins. We now have two websites that use this plugin, and these two are on the ‘watch list’ of memory and CPU users.

It can only be down to this plugin. As one of said sites is not a memory intension commerce website.

Does this plugin run regularly, does it use much RAM, let’s say a week or so AFTER the keywords have all been added?

Final question: is there a way to see when its Scan is done, to know it’s finished it’s job, or does it constantly run via a Cron?

    Hi @simon_a6

It will need some RAM to calculate the linkindex. This will scale up if you have thousands of posts and thousands of keywords that will need to get matched.

After every change that will affect the linkindex (and your possible internal links that can be built) the linkindex will have to update itself, so yes – this is an ongoing process.

For more advanced usage, we have the different index modes in our Pro version, where you can delegate this job away from your webserver to a native running cronjob. You can learn more about this feature here: https://internallinkjuicer.com/docs/index-generation-mode/

It only can be run by cronjob if you set it up (part of Pro version). When the building process has finished you will see it in the Internal Link Juicer’s dashboard which keeps you informed about the last built and the duration it took to build the index.

Let me know if you have any questions left on that ??

So if we make a change to one page, the LinkIndexer starts over again through ALL pages and content?

Currently, it does – but we are already working on a much more optimized solution.

Heavens! So if the website is big, then … what sort of CPU or RAM is it using as it drives it through?

We do not have any benchmarks available that would give you detailed insights into the asymptotic behavior of different platforms or hardware setup with the Internal Link Juicer in action.

But we are currently serving different platforms with over 50.000 or more posts and many of keyword configuration which is running without any problems by the cronjob mode through WP-CLI.

Nevertheless, we are aware that there is still great potential for optimization potential here. We are already pursuing various approaches and are still evaluating the best strategy for building the index. We hope that our users will soon be able to look forward to an even more comfortable experience with the link index.
