Does this require user login?

My concern is that in the creation of a customer account there would be a need to validate email and issue password. This would delay the POS transaction.

How is this addressed with the POS plugin?

I would like to gather customer data and add them as a customer, and perhaps I would change the method by which accounts are created (no email password requirement). I would appreciate an suggestions on how to make each transaction as smooth as possible.
