Hi, a customer asked me to audit his analytics tracking, it’s set up with GTM, but during my test i noticed that 2 purchase event are received, because 2 datalayers “purchase” exists.

I know the origin of one of the 2 datalayers, and my theory is that pixel manager generate the second one, but i can’t find anything about this in the plugin description.

So does pixel manager generate a purchase datalayer?

If yes, is it possible to deactivate this feature in settings?

    Thank you.

    Hi @dentreprise,

Thanks for the post! Allow me to assist you on this.

So does pixel manager generate a purchase datalayer?

Yes. The Pixel Manager is using its own wpmDataLayer and is sending all events directly to GA (and Google Ads, Facebook, etc.).

PMW sends?all?specified events to Google Analytics.

We don’t recommend activating both PMW and GTM at the same time, as it can cause inconsistencies with conversion tracking.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for confirming my theory.

There are no settings to deactivate this datalayer?

    Hi @dentreprise,

    You are most welcome!

There are no settings to deactivate this datalayer?

I’m afraid that there is no way to disable the Pixel Manager’s datalayer.

The PMW relies on its own wpmDataLayer to ensure proper functioning and seamless integration with Google Analytics. Disabling or bypassing this data layer would compromise the functionality of the Pixel Manager. It’s designed to operate efficiently with its specific datalayer for optimal performance.

If you intend to leverage the benefits of the Pixel Manager, it’s essential to work within the established framework, utilizing the designated datalayer for accurate and reliable event tracking.

    I hope this helps.
