    Hello,

We are currently in the process of updating the privacy policy on our website and as part of that process I have been tasked with finding out what, if any, personal information is collected by the plugins that we have installed, including the Font Awesome plugin. So, as per the question in the topic title: does this plugin collect any personal information from website users/visitors? My guess would be “no”, but I still have to ask.

    Thank you. ??

I can’t offer a legal response (i.e. this forum post is not a privacy policy), but I can tell you a bit about how the plugin works, and I can point you to the Font Awesome privacy statement, which may be relevant to your concern.

The current version of this plugin (4.0.0-rc23) stores information about the plugin’s configuration, metadata about available Font Awesome releases, hashes and descriptions of potentially conflicting Font Awesome resources being loaded by other plugins or theme if the Conflict Detection Scanner is used, and if the site owner / admin connects the plugin to their fontawesome.com account via API Token to use Kits, then some authorization information is stored to enable those account-specific features.

None of that stored information pertains to public website visitors. No data are collected by this plugin when a user simply visits a WordPress site where this plugin is active.

This plugin puts HTML into the website’s page’s that causes a web site visitor’s browser to load assets from the Font Awesome CDN in order to load the icon assets. For information about Font Awesome’s privacy policy, look here.

Thank you for your detailed explanation, I really appreciate it. ?? It should be more than enough to answer any questions raised by my managers.

    Cheers!
