• I am currently using WP Offloads and an S3 storage which is then served through Cloudflare via subdomain.

I was looking to add the Cloudflare’s Image Resizing function that I have on the Pro package. I have not used it before. Will this plugin slot in to what I have, bearing in mind that the WP Offloads also deals with the videos as well. Not wishing to complicate things but to use what we have to teh best possible result.

Would be grateful for your guidance on this.

    Many thanks

    Hi @ffoo17,

With Cloudflare Images you are getting access to WebP and AVIF, which blows away any possible compression savings you might get with JPEG’s. However, given that you already have all your images on S3 – it’s probably not efficient to maintain a copy on Cloudflare Images just for the new formats. If you already have the Pro package, I would opt in for Polish and have a go at that.

Also, my personal opinion – Cloudflare Images is not yet production ready for full offload. S3 is safe and reliable, Cloudflare Images is new and unpredictable. I’m betting it will mature into a solid product, but it’s not going to happen overnight.

    Best regards,
    Anton

Thank you for that comprehensive answer – so leave it where it is for now.

And just to be clear, the fact that the Cloudflare is in fact the service we use to serve the images and videos from our S3 storage makes no difference? The feature that we are most interested in is the auto resizing. In other words, can the images that are to be served by Cloudflare anyway also undergo the resizing?

    Hi @ffoo17,

If by auto-resizing you mean “compression”, then Cloudflare Polish is exactly what you are looking for. Cloudflare Images is kind of like S3 + serving with the best possible image format.

    Best regards,
    Anton
