Does the Export tool back up your images and media?

Hello all,

I’d like to use the Export tool to make an .xml back up of my WordPress site. In the codex, instructions on the use of the Export tool say “[the XML] … will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags. “

Does it also contain your images, videos, music, files and other media uploaded using the Media tool?
