Does ‘Schedule for automatic updates’ depend on wp_cron() to run?

  • Hi,

    I was wondering if it would be possible to run the updates exactly at the schedule time without the need of having visits to the site, as wp_cron() depends on them.

    I mean I want to prevent the typical wp_cron() behaviour of “run at first visit right after the scheduled time”.

    Hi,

    Yes, the setting is controlling at what time the task is registered in WP’s scheduled task system. So, if your site is low on visitors, then you’re not going to always be seeing accuracy to the minute.
