    Short answer: no.

Longer anwser: I don’t know. I did not test bbPress. Some things may work and some other not. If you make a test, then I am interested to know more.

Hi Chouby, I am in this particular situation that I’m running Polylang alongside with bbPress.

It works fine except for one situation:

When viewing a topic in bbPress (which is a thread / forum post) Polylang completely stops working.

    • The language-based filter for sidebar widgets doesn’t work and all widgets for all languages appear simultaneously
    • The navigation menu is not filtered anymore and all page entries for all languages appear simultaneously

Other than that the correct functionality of bbPress doesn’t seem to be affected.

Update: your latest version of Polylang fixes my previously mentioned issues with bbPress.

However, I noticed one big problem with Polylang. It does not add the language meta data to new topics and replies created with bbPress (which are in fact all posts). Therefore all new topics and replies are not displayed because they get filtered by Polylang.

Apparently your plugin only hooks into save_post in the admin area.

It would be great if you could extend your plugin so it also works with posts created with the front end.

To be honest, it is pure luck that v0.9 improves the situation as I currently still not work on bbPress support.

In my plans, v0.9 was released to give full multilingual support to WordPress core. v1.0 will be release to improve ui and user experience. Then only (not before 2013), I will start working on better support of major WordPress plugins and themes. And bbPress is not the only one in may plans ??

xili-language 2.8.1 is announced to support multilingual support for bbPress 2.1 – see

    https://wiki.xiligroup.org/index.php/Xili-language:_multilingual_forums_with_bbPress_add-on

be patient during end of testing phase…
