Does Polylang give the option to translate pages automatically?

I’m just learning how to use this plugin at the moment, do I need to manually translate each individual page for that particular language or can it be done automatically? (from the main English pages) ?

I know I need to download each *.mo file for each language and put in the languages folder on my ftp.

I want to be able to display the flags (around 32 different languages) for the website and have the option for the user to translate that language at the homepage for the entire site, is this possible with this plugin?

I was originally going to use google translate plugin but it’s just not professional enough using this, I would much prefer a different one.
