Does plugin will work if MySQL is 5.5.51

    I am on Hostgator shared account(business package) I uploaded demo woocommerce theme and saw that I have to upgrade PHP & MySQL version. I could do it for PHP to 5.6 but because I am on shared account(well business package with SSL)they don`t change mySQL and it is 5.5.51. Did not expected to have such problems with Hostgator. Does it mean that woocommerce will not work for me? This site is not set up yet of course.
    I am going to sell video logo/intro animations that customers can choose. In stead of product picture thumbnails, Ill have video thumbnails(I hope, I can do that?) hosted on Youtube and Ill use PayPal as the payment method.

    Hi there,

    It should work, however this is too complex to know in advance. You must test this.
    Get up a staging system, expect trouble and take it one step at a time.

    Depending on your configuration and required plugins you might run into trouble. But I would say it is not very likely.

    PHP 5.5 should work just fine for now. While WordPress requirements is currently set to 5.6, it is backwards compatible (up to a point) with older versions…

    Thanks for the answer, guys! Riaan, PHP is upgraded to 5.6. I could not upgrade only mySQL to the higher version at shared account and mySQL is 5.5. 51.
