The one hassle with super cache is having to constantly re-edit the wp-config file as the plugin keeps inserting DEFINE statements in advance of the php tag ??
Is there a way to stop this from happening, and will just upgrading the plugin cause the plugin to rewrite the wp-config.php file?

    Hi @net-buoy

I installed an outdated version of WP Super Cache and it didn’t insert DEFINE statements before the PHP tag. Additionally, when updating, it didn’t happen either.

You mean that WP Super Cache is inserting it’s DEFINE contents before the opening <?php tag in wp-config.php, correct?

    Yes

thats exactly what I mean – every time I activate it sticks define statements before the start of the config file and I have to hand edit the file #^}%*}^#%#}#

glad to hear you didnt have the woconfig file corrupted ??

I’ll update and then report if there were any issues

    thanks

    Hi there –

Thanks for testing again. I think trying to update is a good next step.

I did just test in another environment and also couldn’t reproduce the issue. If you still have problems, it might help to know if there is anything unique about your config or web server.
