Does not work with WordPress Gutenberg editor

I tried three separate SVG files. They all have the same set of problems. Using the Gutenberg editor, inserting images with default settings shows in the editor at thumbnail size. The rendered page shows the images centered on their correct position, but they are as wide as the entire page. Changing the image size setting (Thumbnail, Medium, Large, Full) makes no difference. Setting the image alignment makes them disappear from the rendered page. And, they never come back. I have to remove the image and re-insert.

This plugin is too frustrating. Moving on.
