This looked like exactly what I needed but after installing and testing it I’ve found it doesn’t work with registration via WooCommerce, only through the default WordPress login/registration. This makes it rather pointless because the standard WordPress registration already sends a password to the user’s email address, meaning with this plugin installed a new user has to check their email twice in order to create and log in to a new account. When registering through WooCommerce forms (which REALLY needs email confirmation) this plugin simply does nothing.

I see it’s been a year since an update so it would be nice if the developer could breathe new life into this as the simplicity and functionality of this plugin would be excellent if it only worked where it was useful.

  • The plugin does not mention compatibility with woocommerce, but according to your review, does exactly what it says, so your 2/5 rating is rather invalid.

What it does is not useful. WordPress already confirms email as part of the standard registration process, so it’s just doubling up on the functionality. In the case where it would be useful, it does not work.

Sending login details and confirmation is two very different things. WP does not have this functionality out of the box.

The first does not prevent tonnes of fake regs.

You can’t access the account without first checking the email you registered with. It’s two slightly different ways of accomplishing the same thing. I would personally never require users of my website to check their email for a password after signing up and then make them check their email again for an email verification afterwards. It’s obvious to me why, but if you’re happy with what this does for you I invite you to write your own review about it.
