With polylang you can duplicate posts and taxonomies for each languages. It can be done also with wf_page_folders, but there is a problem in the interface, when you are in the pages list.

It seems wicked folders save the current viewed folder in a cookie or session variable, so when you go to another admin screen and enter again in the pages list it remembers the last folder used and recover last view of filtered pages.

But if you are translating with polylang and change the current language from the admin wordpress bar, wicked folders fails and folder tree appears void. I think this is because the cookie points to the folder in the last language, not the equivalent folder in the new current language. But you has changed language so the previous terms are hidden, and the tree appears void.

Is it possible you solve this question? You need only reset the cookie if language is changed point to “all folders” and it works, as these folder is the same for every language.

    Thank you very much

    Hi @aurepons,

Can you please clarify how you duplicated the wf_page_folders taxonomy? Is that a feature that is only available in Polylang Pro?

Ok, I’m working with free polylang.

To translate the wf_page_folders taxonomy I use the ‘register_taxonomy_args’ filter and change ‘show_ui’ and ‘show_in_menu’ param to true, so I can see wf_folders_taxonomy in wordpress admin menu and also use it to create menus.

Then I activate the translation of this taxonomy in polylang settings and have the same utilities as other taxonomies like categories or post tags. It works ok.

The only problem is in pagelist view, when language is changed from admin bar the interface is broken, as tree view is looking for a term that is hidden by polylang filters.

    Thabk you very much

Thanks for clarifying, that helps a lot.

We’ve made some adjustments to the plugin so that each language has its own folder pane “state”. Meaning that if you switch a language, it will return to the last folder you were in for that language. It will also remember which folders were expanded.

We’re going to do some more testing just to make sure nothing has broken as part of this change and then we’ll release an update to the plugin. We’ll likely do that tomorrow (or Monday at the latest).
