I use a premium plugin called PeepSo that includes blocks that show no option for visibility with Block Visibility enabled. I enabled Full Control mode and nada.

What does a plugin need to include for Block Visibility to work? I’d like to suggest that PeepSo add the functionality. They recommended a plugin that hasn’t been updated in two years (and does not work) so I believe they should be recommending yours – if they can get yours to work.

By the way, it is a sidebar widget and I am trying to control the visibility to logged-in users. I tried adding other widgets (standard WP widgets) with your Plugin and it does work for those. So there is obviously something about the PeepSo blocks I am using that your plugin does not seem to support.

    Hi @smileybri,

Thanks for reaching out. If the Visibility panel is not displaying for the PeepSo blocks, they must be doing something with their blocks that restricts additional attributes being applied. If this is the case, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done directly.

However, there is a workaround that should work. If you place their blocks inside of a standard WordPress Group block. Then apply the visibility settings to the Group block and you should be good to go!

Give it a try and let me know if this “resolves” the issue or if I can be of further assistance!

    Best,
    Nick

When I add a WordPress GroupBlock I also have no option to change visibility settings.

Correction. I can hide or unhide the group. There are no options other than “hide” and “unhide” (toggle).

If it helps WordPress seems to refer to my Widgets as Legacy Widgets.

Thank you for following up, that is interesting. To eliminate some possible issues, can you try adding an empty Group block and place a Paragraph block inside the Group block. The Visibility panel should be present on both the Paragraph block and the Group block.

If that is successful, create a new empty Group block. Then place the Peepso widget inside. The visibility panel should appear on the Group block but not the Peepso widget block.

If any of the testing above does not succeed, please email directly at [support (at) blockvisibilitywp.com] and we will get to the bottom of it!

    Thanks,
    Nick

I have an email partially drafted and just thought I should start from scratch. I disabled and deleted the plugin from my site and then went and started from the beginning.

I’m not sure what changed. The very first report of the trouble I had tested a standard WP block and saw the options on the right under visibility. Later when I ran into trouble with the PeepSo blocks and reported the issue I was able to report that I had tested with other blocks and it worked.

After I reported and was trying your suggestion of creating the group block and putting the other blocks within the group – THIS RESOLVES THE ISSUE 100% by the way. When I tried it the sidebar on the right did not open and I was sure that it opens it by default when there were options to display. Even though it did initially it does not open automatically. I have to hit the gear to open it. Just confusing.

I don’t use blocks as a rule because on most sites I use a page builder. So it is just me.

Thanks for your help, Nick! Your plugin works B-E-A-utifully and the support you provided was amazing. I’d like to buy you a Pizza or a beer or something. I’ll find out how next.

So glad the workaround solved it for you! And thank you for the kind review. That is all I could ever ask for. ??

    All the best,
    Nick
