I have had a bit of a play with the plugin code and got authenticator login working. I will tidy it up and look at the other modules to see if I can get it all working. The original code is written in a nice way for hacking.

@cotswoldphoto do you have some details for me? I’d like to implement this as a core feature and if I could count on your know how, it’d be great ??

Sorry to say that I got so far and then had a problem I could not solve, so I gave up and deleted it all. I have updated to WP4, and I can’t get the Google Authenticator plugin to work properly in that. I think that the WordPress dev team need to seriously give some thought to 2FA and also to modal operation as part of the core. The issue is that WP is seen by its core devs as authoring software, but in fact it has membership needs far wider than that, as e-commerce, bulletin boards etc. But, at this time, the core devs do not seem to want to add the functionality that Joomla users have had for some time. I mean, and a good example here, a simple feature to control meta data display per post/page. Show/hide date, author etc. Simple in Joomla, but in WP?

The way Joomla handles user login, user profiles, is far more end user oriented than WP, but Joomla is in so many other ways nowhere near as good as WP.

Okay, thanks for the reply. I’m gonna check this. Maybe I can implement this with the User Frontend. I’ll keep you up in this thread ??
