• After spending easily 20 hrs on trying to activate this plugin and meticulously re-doing the AWS setup instructions multiple times absolutely nothing works. All efforts to enable functionality generate the message “Verify that your AWS credentials are accurate”. They are accurate.

I am using the latest version of the plugin and WP 5.4.1. Is there a fatal incompatibility between this plugin and WP 5.4.1?

On the AWS General tab, saving the AWS secret key causes it to be truncated to about half its length. The instructions were unclear on whether to use Ohio or N Virginia as the region. Neither region works.

There is security overkill on this plugin that defies comprehension. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to untie this unbelievable gordian knot?

This would be a dynamite plugin if it only worked. It looks like this plugin is a badly under-resourced project that is thereby guaranteed to fail. It would be well worth it to Amazon to clean up its act and do what it takes to make the pieces fit together and work. If Amazon is in business to make money, it does not show in the management of this project.

    Hello,
Truncating keys – is normal security option to increase the security. Regarding the question about the region – there is no suggestion in the documentation, because it doesn’t matter which region which you will use for Text-To-Speech functionality to work.

The plugin is working for thousands of users/sites, so I’m sorry to hear that you have got problems, but some things are hard to predict – because each WordPress env is different.

Feel free to drop me an email – stachlew @ amazon com – I will help you.

    Cheers,
    Tomasz

When will you be able to say that this plugin is tested with the current version of WordPress?

I am sure that code refactoring has been a step in the right direction, but neatly re-arranging the bugs in this entomologist’s paradise does not fix anything.
