Does not work for media due to post status

  • Media posts (attachments) have a post status of inherit. They do not have a post status of “publish”. The only option is to search for posts with a status of publish. When the post type media is selected no duplicates are found even though there are definitely duplicates on the site. I suspect this is related to the post status. I tried removing the “disabled” attribute on the checkbox and unchecking it, however still no duplicate attachments were found.

    I checked in the options table under “delete_duplicate_posts_options_v4” to see if I could manually change the status however it is not present in the settings there.

    How can we search for duplicate media attachments?

    Given I had not received a response and I uregently need to remove the duplicates attachment posts I hacked the plugin file and changed all the instances of “publish” to inherit. That worked to find the duplicate attachments, however when I try to delete the selected posts from the list I get a pop up error “Response from the server: Unknown error occurred”

    Nothing is deleted.

    I can see in the code that this is an Ajax error however I have no idea how to fix it.

    Can you please help with using this plugin to delete attachments? Ideally with making it work for attachments without having to hack the plugin code.
