• I like the idea to make a simple lightbox without too much hassle, but this one does not work. Do not put it out there if it’s not ready at least for some basic usage…

The plugin only works for landscape sized images. Square ot portait sizes do not work. Also, at least with square or portait sizes, it does not obey the url in the link, but rather loads the thumbnail image that is already displayed on the page…

    Hello Talkingabouthis,

Thank you for your review, actually, the plugin is working fine for me with portraits or square images. Could you tell me which theme you are using or give me a link to a page of your website ?

The thing is, this plugin never obeyed url in the link, I mean, that’s the principle of “Responsive Images”, what the plugin does it to copy the img tag in your code and paste it in the lightbox, since WP4.4 wordpress is using the srcset and sizes attributes when adding an image or a gallery. So the image used is in fact not the one you asked for, but the best image for your screen. This is responsive images.

However, when adding a thumbnail image, wordpress doesn’t add these tags, so the plugin only display a thumbnail in the lightbox.

We will see to make it work even with thumbnails.

    Best regards,

I tried using it with a standard WP gallery – isn’t this the most basic use-case for a lightbox? Theme doesn’t matter, as this is a WP generated code. I’m using the html5 galleries, if that helps

    Hello,

Actually, theme matters .. for example many premium themes have their own lightbox included which of course could have created problems.

And yeah, galleries are the most basic use-case for a lightbox, that’s why we tested it on our side and it is working fine ( except for thumbnails as I said earlier ).

Without further hints on your issue I’m afraid I won’t be able to help you more on that, but I’ll investigate on the portraits issue and try to make it bug on my website.

Oh and btw, this is the review section, next time try using the support so we can help you before rating the plugin ??

    Thanks,

    Thomas K,
