• Hello,
we are using WordPress in a multisite environment.

    Main site: https://ratheryes.com

XML Sitemaps are created via the YOAST SEO plugin.

Recently I discovered that the 404 Redirected plugin automatically redirected https://ratheryes.com/sitemap.xml to an arbitrary blog post (instead of leaving it either alone or redirecting it to:

    https://ratheryes.com/sitemap_index.xml.

Then, when trying to fix this I became aware that in the manual redirect option one can only select the blog pages or posts or tags or categories that are created/defined. OR one could define an external page to redirect to. But what one can not do, it seems is tell the plugin to redirect to an “internal” page that is not in the redirect dropdown menu. Is there a work-around or will “external page like https://ratheryes.com/sitemap_index.xml work although strictly speaking it is not external but sits on the same domain so that it should really be referenced as “…/sitemap_index.xml”?

    Thanks for investigating/answering
    Darragh
