Does not search German special characters

Hi!

The plugin uses standard LIKE statements, which should support every kind of special character. It had been tested on arabic, chineese, japaneese and cirillic wordpress installations as well.

Special character problems are very rare and usually caused by incorrect database or talbe collations. Unfortunately it might be your case as well.

It’s extremely hard to detect without seeing the database, but I have a few questions that might help us to find another solution:

– Does the lowercase versions of these characters work? Like “?” “?” “ü”?
– Does the default wordpress search word with the “?” “?” or “ü” characters?
– Does it work if you replace the characters with “A” “O” or “U”? Will it find the words with the special characters in it?

If you can find out the answers, I might be able to tell how to proceed.
