I tried out the Amp plugin and when I enable it, there is not a single page being rendered as AMP. No difference between the regular page and the Amp. I switched to twenty sixteen to see if the theme was a problem but still no results yet. What do I need to do for getting AMP working?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Have you gone into your pages and turned amp on at page level?

Yes, I have Amp enabled at page level, but I do not get any Amp output

Alright, we managed to render an AMP page, that is already some progress. I guess I did not find that because according to the documentation the Amp pages are showing with the /amp suffix and not with /?amp like you are telling me now. But how does it work practically? How does the browser know there is an Amp page available? And all the links are going back to the no AMP pages. So give me some clues on how to make this useful for me.

@martinneumannat On the non-AMP page there is a link element in the page with a rel=amphtml attribute. This is what is looked for to find the AMP version of the page. Browsers normally don’t try to discover the AMP version of the page. Search engines and social media platforms will link to the AMP version for mobile visitors when they discover this amphtml link. If, however, you install the AMP Validator extension then this will surface the AMP version of any given page by looking at this link element: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/amp-validator/nmoffdblmcmgeicmolmhobpoocbbmknc?hl=en

OK, thanks for clarifying. But when a moblie browser is loading an AMP page, I guess the next linked pages should be AMP as well. The links inside the page are all going back to the regular site.
I have been reading that an AMP enabled theme can load the AMP version for moblie phones automatically. Would that be an approach that is resolving this problem?

Also, are there any themes out there that are already AMP enabled? Are there some templates to get a nicer layout on the AMP version? I would like that the AMP version resembles a little bit closer the original site.
