Does not import post image files

    This plugin works beautifully, unless you want to import images that you’ve included in other posts. You’ll see the images in the posts you import, but they will be URL links from where you imported them.

    Images do not import into new image library.

    Does anyone know of an image importer / transfer tool that will copy/move images from one WP install to a new WP install?

  • Hi Kevin, you need to tick the box that says “Download and import file attachments”, then your images will be copied too.

    Hi,
    I created a WP blog on my PC to try it out. I created a few posts, defined some catergories, loaded a few images, etc. Then to test the export/import feature, I exported a file to a directory on my PC. Then I uninstalled and re-installed WP again. Now, I installed the WP import and gave it the file name. It fails saying:

    “Import WordPress
    Sorry, there has been an error.
    This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number”

    I tried saving the file as a Word XML doc. This time it seems to accept it because it gives no error. But it does not import anything.

    Can anyone help ?
