    Thanks for the feedback.
    Guest checkouts for subscription products had to be temporarily disabled since plugin version 1.6.2 as there was an issue that could prevent subscription renewals from processing correctly when it was created by a guest.
    We are working to re-enable subscription guest checkouts with our next update as this was only a temporary measure to prevent long-term issues with subscriptions that could not be renewed down the road.

    Do you guys have any idea when that feature will be re-enabled?

    Selling subscriptions is a very large part of one of our sites using it, and the fact that the option simply disappeared, without any reference in the changelog, is a little alarming.

    I don’t believe we should need to visit the support forums to discover that this was an intentional change.

    Hi @simonbbs,

    The next plugin update that restores subscription checkouts for guest users will likely arrive sometime in the second half of January. A partially tested pre-release version is usually available about a week before the release on the GitHub repo: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/releases

    We agree that this change could have been communicated much better. The issue description in the changelog did not accurately described the measures that were taken in the end for the release: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/issues/342
    A fully functional fix was not available in time, so preventing problems with eventually failing renewals from happening was more important for the time being.
    We are putting more effort into better changelogs for the future and the next few releases have a focus on improving the subscriptions integration in particular.
    Our focus has been more on improving the overall plugin stability recently, but we appreciate all the feedback we can get and aim to provide the best possible subscription integration.
