Does MainWP.com help in optimizing server Storage Space?

Hi,

So we have recently purchased LifeTime membership of MainWP.

We are in the process of developing a network of 3000 sites.

All sites are “exact same” i.e. cloned using the original site withe exact same theme, plugins, design, functionality, etc.

The only difference is the “domain name”. Each site has a unique domains name such as domain1.com, domain2.com and so on.

About Sites:

The original site size is about 35MB when I download full site from C/Panel (no traffic/users yet).

We have cloned about 100 sites using MainWP cloning extension and in the process of cloning others until all 3000 are done.

Problem:

Our hosting (KnownHost) plan has 200 GB SSD storage space.
My developer told me that we are already using almost 73% of the space.
Doesn’t make sense to me. We should have no problem cloning all sites with 200 GB storage space. 200 GB space = 5714 sites @ 35 MB /site size. right?

Am I missing something? Is it possible that while cloning, many other full files/software etc is getting duplicated?

Q: How do we clone the sites in an efficient way so that storage space is optimally/minimally utilized?

Please help us what we should do.
