Bump… just wondering if there is an answer for this?

At first glance from looking at the source code everything should be working… I haven’t heard of VFB or VFB Pro before and we haven’t officially tested Leadin with that plugin, but I’ll take a closer look at how their plugin operates and why it might not be working with Leadin. It’s possibly that VFB Pro is submitting it’s forms with Javascript which normally messes with Leadin’s default ability to parse forms.

Thanks for your patience. We should be able to figure this out.

Hi Andy, thanks so much for your reply. As luck would have it, I just heard back from support for VFB Pro. Apparently they do use AJAX to submit the form. Does that mean I’m out of luck or is it still possible to make this work?

The Ajax submissions are the most likely culprit. I’ll try to install the plugin on a test site and see if I can come up with a work around.

Excellent! Thanks Andy, I look forward to hearing what you find out.

Hi Andy, I’ve actually completely changed my form, just to make sure it is working with Leadin. I’ve ditched VFB Pro and started using Formidable. Your FAQ says that Leading has been tested with Formidable, so I was hopeful that it would work.

Whenever I test the form myself by filling it out and submitting, Leadin works correctly and captures my data. But when an actual site visitor tries it, it doesn’t work.

The only difference I can see is that I’m logged in to WordPress as an administrator, and the other users are not.

In the settings pane, under “Do not tracked logged in:” all 5 of the boxes are unchecked. From the way this is worded, it sounds like it should be tracking everyone. But it seems to not be checking regular users who are not logged in.

I’ve tried to get this working … is there anything you can do to help?

I haven’t had a chance to debug VFB yet – sorry about that. We’re fixing the backlog of bugs as fast as possible so hopefully I’ll be able to take a deeper look at the plugin soon for people who want to use it in the future.

Leadin should work with Formidable Forms out of the box. I’m going to try cloning your form on my local development server using that plugin this weekend and see if I can get to the bottom of the issue. Sorry again for the problems and thanks for your patience. We’re working on some longer term solutions for the data storage which should rectify most of these problems, or at least help us to debug them faster.

I should be back in touch by Monday afternoon with what I find.

Hi Andy, I wanted to check in with you on this. I was hoping to hear back from you on Monday. Leadin is still not tracking submissions, while at the same time, if I do a test submission, somehow it does track me. This happens whether I am logged in to WordPress or not. I can’t really figure out what is going on here and would love to get this working.

If it would help, I would be happy to speak directly with you. We can do a screen chat, or Skype, or whatever will help. Please let me know. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay here. We’re doing our very best to keep up with support tickets, but between answering everyone’s inquiries and actually fixing bugs then deploying the fixes, we’re admittedly not operating as fast as we’d like.

Based off your Javascript console I think what this is causing the issue here I found yesterday with versions of WordPress < 4.0.

Do you happen to be running an older version of WordPress?

No problem Andy, I understand. There’s never enough hours in the day.

I’m actually running the latest version of WordPress, 4.1.

    There goes my theory…

So it looks like there’s an admin-ajax.php error happening, which usually indicates there’s a PHP error on the server when it’s hitting the ajax file. I pointed it out in this screenshot of the Javascript console for your site:

    https://leadin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screen-Shot-2015-01-22-at-5.45.18-PM.png

This is an issue we run into from time to time because of the very nature of WordPress. If another plugin has a PHP error in it, it’ll break out ability to track activity in the data base. Unfortunately the only way for me to really get to the bottom of this on your specific server configuration is if you send me FTP access to the server and create me an administrative WordPress login to your site so I can verify that the fix is actually working once I figure out what’s going on. Sorry I don’t have a better solution… not being able to control the server environment and access the error logs is one of the major downsides for us WordPress plugin developers… Hope you understand.

My email is [email protected]. If you send over that information I can try to figure out what the root of the cause is tomorrow for you.

    Thanks!
