    Hello
I could not find the answer of this simple question on the web. I know Jetpack requires having a WordPress account, but I have a question about its various features, particularly statistics feature. I have not used Jetpack yet. When a visitor comes to my website, Jetpack connects to WordPress to use its remote database for recording the statistics, or it records the statistics on my own server? If it connects to a remote server, this means the plugin reduces my website loading speed. Am I right?

    Thank you

Stats are indeed calculated on WordPress.com and not on your own server, but no connection happens between your site and WordPress.com on each page load.

However, once you activate the Stats module each page on your site will load a Javascript file hosted on WordPress.com, as well as a small gif image that will be used as a tracking pixel. It basically works like Google Analytics.

No worries though, that Javascript file should load fairly quickly, we make sure it’s served as quickly as possible.

    I hope this helps.
