this is what I am looking for
1. When I add a new simple Product, it takes the next available number and puts it in the SKU.
(if 00001234 is the last one used, then it will add 00001235)
2. When I have a variable product, and add a new variable product item to a few already in there, it will takes the next available number and puts it in this variables SKU.
Is this what it will do.

@wealthy This seems like a simple task, but I had a little bit to remember the basics of php. The problem was with zeros … in general, now everything should work, you can safely update. And about your idea with numbers, write me better in PM.
