    Obviously not. Pity.

This plugin is based on YouTube standards. Embedded video views count on YouTube.com as long as they aren’t autoplayed. There’s nothing we do to prevent or change things. Feel free to google on ’embedded youtube player and play count’ to learn more about how things work.

It’s not clear what you’re seeking, but if your trying to portray this plugin as one that does not follow that standard, then you’re wrong.

Thanks for your reaction. I don’t want to portay anything, I just wondered if using the plugin counts on YouTube. When tested with proxy-server it did not, while in YouTube itself it did. It’s just that I want normal counting when using your plugin and it seems to me that it did not count when using your plugin.

Please understand that a plugin is not responsible for counting YouTube views. YouTube’s own player automatically does the count increments internally and according to it’s own rules. A plugin does not need to do (and should not, for that matter) anything special on top of this.

Given that you aren’t getting views from anything that you’re trying (even outside of this plugin), our advice is to evaluate your setup and embed parameters (if any) and see if you’re preventing the YouTube player from sending count data. For example, if you’re autoplaying your embeds, you should know that YouTube explicitly won’t count autoplays as views.
