• Despite activating Insamnity for several months now google pagespeed tool continues to tell me that I should compress and resize images. Does insmanity not do that? Here is a sample return which google pagespeed says could save 21KiB (79% reduction):

    sitename/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/chris-paul-executes-the-perfect-wrap-around-pass-1-8-2017-youtube-thumbnail-450×350.jpg could save 21KiB (79% reduction).

What do I need to set in insmanity to achieve such reduction or is there any other plugin that does this? Thanks

Imsanity resizes images to whatever size you tell it to. However, that doesn’t mean your images are the correct size for display on your pages. Depending on your theme, there could be a dozen different (re)sizes required to have the correct display size for each location on your site.
I wrote a pretty detailed article on this here: https://docs.ewww.io/article/5-pagespeed-says-my-images-need-more-work

Even though it’s geared toward EWWW IO users, it still applies here. And Imsanity certainly doesn’t do the “compressing” part of the equation. For that you need a compression plugin like EWWW Image Optimizer.
