When your plugin sends new URLs to Google via their Instant Indexing API does it also tell Google the real IP address of the machine?

I am asking because I have some sites proxied via Cloudflare and I would prefer Google not know the real IP address of the server.

    Hello @wpbroken2much,

    Thank you for contacting support.

We don’t explicitly collect the IP address to send it over with the request to the Indexing API, we only send the URL to the API.

Having said that, we don’t know what Google collects from the request and if it’s collecting the IP address where the request originated or not.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Do the requests go through your server or do they come directly from mine to Google?

    Hello @wpbroken2much,

The requests don’t go through our server. They are submitted directly from your site to the API.

    Hope that helps.

When the plugin sends data to Google what does it send? If Google receives an IP will it be the Cloudflare proxy IP or the true server IP?

    Hello @wpbroken2much,

As mentioned previously, we only send the URL from our plugin to Google and we have no knowledge if Google does collect the IP and what their intentions are for it.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
