Does Gmail or Mailgun manage all email or just WP email?

    I apologize for any confusion. Mailgun can be used to send all the emails from the server by configuring Mailgun SMTP or using it’s API. For the WordPress sites, WP Mail SMTP reconfigures WordPress to use Mailgun API to send the emails.
