• I’m building my first WordPress site using the Forever theme and have spent the last few days customizing and adding plugins to make it work for me. Suddenly I realized, though, that when I shrink the window the site is not responsive. It doesn’t adjust at all. This makes me wonder if the site is viewable on mobile devices? Can anyone offer advice on this? Do I have to pick a new theme and go back to the drawing board? Thanks.

  • Forever is fixed width, the demo shows no sign of responsiveness in layout when viewed in small screen. However its child theme has responsive layout, you can check it out here:

Everything Paul said is spot on – Forever is not responsive, but its child theme Ever After is. If you want a site that automatically adjusts to different screen sizes, you’ll need to either use a responsive theme or add a plugin that pulls in a separate mobile stylesheet on smaller screens. Since you’re just getting started, I’d recommend using a responsive theme.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
