Hello. I have a question. Once you install this plugin you need to run it and it changes something in your site/datebase/tables… that takes like 5-10 minutes. If you disable the plugin, does everything goes to default, like it was?

    Hi @qnkov

When you install and activate the Yoast SEO plugin, there’s an initial SEO data optimization process that will populate the data for the indexables, as well as the text link counter (and prominent words for the internal linking suggestions for the premium version). These are all features used by the Yoast SEO plugin.

Could you clarify what you mean by ‘everything goes to default’? When you deactivate the plugin, whatever settings or data (such as set focus keyphrases or SEO titles or meta descriptions), are stored in the database, so they will be retained. When you activate the plugin again, you would expect that the settings and data would still be the same as when you last deactivated it.

For some reason my site become slower with Mozila and Opera. I’m using only Chrome and i doesn’t have this problem with it. The recent only plugin that i have active was this, so i’ve wonder if the problem could be Yoast Seo. I’ve deactive it, cleared cache, but it’s still the same. So i’ve wonder when i active the plugin and i’ve run this optimization option which took like 5-10 minutes if it changed something that will still effect my site even when i’ve deactive it. It takes like 4-5 seconds with Mozila and Opera to open my site and pages, with Chrome like right away.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess you are wondering what the point of the SEO data optimization in the Yoast SEO plugin is.

Since version 14.0, Yoast SEO stores metadata for all pages in a separate database table. This allows us to fetch all of a page’s metadata in one simple database request (rather than lots of individual requests), resulting in much faster page loads.

Before 14.0, we stored metadata like titles and meta descriptions in different places for different types of pages. For everything to work best, this data needs to be migrated to the new table. To do this, Yoast SEO will ask to index your site’s SEO data.

We are sure this has nothing to do with your browsers. You can learn more at https://yoast.com/help/why-does-yoast-seo-ask-to-index-a-sites-seo-data/
