Does embedded you tube video helps for seo?

Short answer is no. In fact, you’re helping the owner of the video instead of helping yourself.

Embeding a video will mostly help the owner of the video, but it will give your page a very small SEO boost by keeping users on your page a little while longer. Just remember that you’ll need to be using Google Analytics so that they can measure the “engagement” (how long users stay on your pages) for this to be any real use.

If I replace it with a photo, will it impact the rank in google?

This probably isn’t what you want to hear, but the only real answer is… “maybe, maybe not”.

You can set the alt tags for the image to boost your on-page SEO a bit, but loosing the video could detract from the time spent on that page. both of them have their value, and it’s hard to say one over the other without a whole lot of other factors coming into it as well.

If you’re concerened I’d say try it with the image instead for a week or two and see what happens to your stats. You’ll either see movement one way or the other and know if it was a good idea or not, or you’ll see no movement which means that it didn’t matter much anyway.

Actually I also wanted to remove the you tube video as it takes around 1 more second to load the page bcoz of the video only but because of seo I’m living with it.
