Does editing Single Post really do anything?

  • I’ve tried to edit and delete things in that file but nothing happens, it’s like everything in single.php can be erased and it’ll have no effect on the site at all. All I’m trying to do is stop my name from being a permalink when I make a post but it still goes to https://mydoamin.com/author/Robert/ even though there’s no link for it.

    Yes, editing single.php does do something…..You’re editing the way things look when you look at a single post. So if you click on a post title and you’re looking at one post with the comment area below it that’s using single.php
