    Hi,
I have an existing webite that ‘i want to move to a new subdomain. However, this site was live for quite some time. so a lot of “deletion” to posts and taxonomy happened in it.
therefore, there are a lot of empty lines in the database.

my question is: if I used duplicator to duplicate the site and put it on a new database, will the plugin reserve the ids of the existing posts and taxonomy?

i.e., will I end up with the same holes in the database?

my final website will have thousands of posts, so i dont want to live with a database that is full of holes.

    Thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @coptic-treasures,

From a database standpoint, the only data that is changed is where it finds instances of your old URL and its replaced with the new URL. All of the DB table keys/ids stay the same.

    Hope that helps~
