Does Contact form 7 work with Multi Press?

    I really like contact form 7 but need a contact form that will work over a multi site installation.
    It was installed and activated via the network dashboard and works on the top level/main site

    the plugin does not show up in the other sites
    I attempted to add another form in the top level site (same but a new name) and then add the short code into the contact page in the other sites

    but the form does not show up
    do i need another plugin?
    what might i be doing wrong?
