Do you have a 100% Nginx setup or do you have Nginx running as a frontend Reverse Proxy and Apache on the backend? Just want to make sure before moving forward since that is the most common setup. ??

    I have a 100% Nginx setup.

Probably the smartest/simplest move would be to disable htaccess files using this Setup Wizard option > Enable|Disable htaccess File. Nginx does have a converter for Apache htaccess code, which I believe was called something like “Url Rewrite Module”. Been a while since I looked at that, but I believe Nginx is trying to “get away from that” if you catch my drift. ??

Thanks. It looks like I can easily convert htaccess to the same nginx rewrite rules so I don’t have an issue with that. I can also disable htaccess files as you suggest so no problem with that even though I’m not clear if that removes a lot of the features/benefits of the plugin.

Also, I’m not clear about if everything else in Bulletproof Security Plugin (BPS) will work. Is there still value in installing and using both the free and pro parts of the plugin if I’m only running 100% nginx or should I look to just do it myself or look at other plugins because this one is really only optimized for sites using apache web server.

Ok well worst case scenario if BPS does not work for you then you would just need to delete the root and wp-admin htaccess files if a problem occurs. Choosing the BPS Setup Wizard option to disable htaccess files should ensure that you would not run into a problem on your Nginx server. The other security features should work fine for you or of course yeah you can try another security plugin. ??
