Does Broken Link Checker not work anymore?

  • I have been using Broken Link Checker for over a year but I deactivated it and reinstalled the plugin due to 5 broken comment links that could not be located.

    When I re-installed, I click on ADVANCED tab and clicked on foced redirect so it would check my site from scratch again (which I have done in the past without a hitch). But it has been almost 24 hours and it is reporting nothing.

    No broken links found.
    No URLs in the work queue.
    Searching your blog for links…

    Obviously, the plugin is not working because it should have completed the checking by now as in the past it would work much faster.

    Looking in Broken Link Checker’s WP support forum it seems there is a ton of recent issues with the plugin…and no responses from the creator. So maybe it has been abandoned.

    Please someone tell me if this still works at all because I did use it all the time…. or if I should, sadly get rid of it.

  • This kind of problem is often caused by the server load limit being set too low. Go to the “Advanced” tab again and try changing the limit setting to a higher value (it should be higher than “current load”) or removing it altogether.
