Has anyone tried using Basic User Avatars with Ultimate Member? I’ve installed and activated the BUA plugin and, using the shortcode, it allows me to choose a file and update the avatar, but no update occurs and I don’t see anywhere where the image is stored locally. When a user uploads a file, should the image appear in the Media Library? Is there a setup step I’m missing to tell WP that I want it to use a locally stored avatar instead of gravatar?

  • Hi @kmalber,

Basic User Avatars may work with Ultimate Member, but it has not been tested. Also, while this plugin has been tested with common server setups, some enviroments could cause an issue. If you are having a problem, deactivate all plugins other than this one and then switch your theme to TwentyTweleve (or similar). If things work, then the issue is with a 3rd party theme or plugin.

    Kind regards,

    Michael

Thanks Michael. I can try that. Unfortunately, I am reliant on Ultimate Member which I have customized significantly with additional code. I suspect it might be that custom code which is the culprit, but wondered if anyone else had successfully used this plugin with vanilla Ultimate Member to narrow my focus. Entirely likely I may have to custom code my own solution here.

It seems a wonderfull plugin but I decline it and uninstall just because a simple and stupid reason, but too much important for my customization: I am not able to use default buddyboss/buddypress avatar.

Thanks for letting us know @fercaldas, there may be ways to customize this further if you need it urgently via code.

I do not have a time frame right now about this feature. I hope you managed to find an avatar plugin that integrates with the BuddyBoss/BuddyPress avatar.
