I am working on a client site and she was having a lot of speed issues. I installed the plugin and then she said her images looked “different”..some bigger, some not in the right place etc.

I deactivated the plugin and deleted it but she still says it is not right. Can you please tell me what changes the plugin makes to any wordpress and/or database files so I can understand what is happening.

    Thank you,

    W

AO changes nothing in WordPress or the WP DB Wally. If AO is deactivated (and if you removed cached pages from any page cache plugin such as e.g. wp super cache or quickcache) then Autoptimize cannot be the reason for things not being right.

    Hope this helps,

    Thank you Frank,

I just want to understand. Plugins in general add to the site, but not the core of the code ..so deleting them should restore you to normal, correct?

    Thanks,

deleting AO (and clearing your page caching plugin’s cache, if you have one) will absolutely return everything to normal.

    have a nice weekend,
