Does anyone know how i can put a search bar into my banner?

    I am trying to add a search bar into my site banner. The slider im using allows shortcode so that okay but I want to have a search function that will resemble the one on: peopleperhour.com or airbnb.com.

    I have tried contact form 7 but my css sucks so i cant get it to look like it. Any help really appreciated.

  • Does Contact Form 7 let your create a search? WordPress has a built in search bar, but I think you should look for an advanced search plugin.

    Hi john, sorry, you are correct, contact 7 does not allow me to search, ive got severe functionality confusion, trying to do to many things.

    Ive had a look at some advanced search plugins but none give me the horizontal look im after. Probably easy to sort out with css but as i say im not good with it.

    Yeah exactly, you need an Advanced Search plugin and then some CSS to get it the way you want – obviously the horizontal look could be done by floating elements or using absolute positioning.

    I think you should concentrate on the functionality first, make sure it does what you want, then edit the look – you’ll be able to get any search plugin in a horizontal line like that.
