Does Anyone Else Dislike New Image Posting With WP 3.5?

  • I just uploaded to 3.5 this morning and TOTALLY HATE the new image upload feature. In previous versions, I could add the image to the post and set as featured image in two clicks within the same popup box. Now, it takes FOUR extra steps – reopening the image uploader for EACH step – to insert and to add as featured.

    Anyone know of a way to GO BACK to the older version of WP???? The image uploader SUCKS in the new version.

  • I had the same problems except my media loader would open with no close button!! Arg. Also, something was competing with the menus in the admin so the mouseovers would not expand. I disabled all plugins, tested it, and the media mangler was ok. Then I added the plugins back until I found hte offender. In my case it was Live Countdown Timer plugin, which is unfortunate because we like Live Countdown Timer a lot. Hopefully they will fix it as it’s a worthwhile plugin.

    Other plugins can cause this so try shutting them all off like I did. Good luck.

    after using this wp 3.5 for more then 30 days
    i have to say now i love the new image posting interface.
    some time a go i say i dont like but now i really love it!

    Not as good as the old one – totally agree – overall it adds about twenty minutes of dead time to the day waiting for it to finish its business. I know that the WP people will be listening and look into this. I find it counter-intuitive as well – anyone else?

    The new WP Media Manager adds so many more steps for me to just add an image to my portfolio. It’s killing me. Help WordPress!

    Yes.. Please help wordpress!! Uploading pictures is painful. Just leave it the way it was. I hate the way a reader has to click a thumbnail to view the pic just a little bit bigger, and again to view it full screen! It makes no sense and some of my readers didn’t know to click it a second time. I really really hope this will be fixed soon….

    It is just what I was always afraid of, and it came,,..I made solid copy of everything with the older version, so I reverted it all because I just dislike a lot the 3.5 for many reasons..

    Hi Marius84, You are nice guy saying that, I just think, you just used to this new nothing…. In 30 days you just also forgot the good you had before,, :)..
