Does Akismet plugin prevent spam user registration?

    Hello I just subscribed to your plugin. Can you tell me if it prevents spam user registrations? I am being flooded with fake user accounts. If not this plugin, what do you recommend?

  • Akismet is designed to protect comment and contact form spam.

    You may be able to stop this by changing the default registration settings for your site.

    To do that, go to Settings → General and uncheck the option for “Anyone can register”.

    If that doesn’t do it, then you may want to adjust the way that you allow users to register so that you include a Captcha or an email confirmation.
