@bart999, Thanks for your question! LaterPay works a bit differently than most payment providers. We allow for small micropayments where the user can “Pay Later.” This means that they can purchase several small articles and are only asked to register for an account and pay once their tab is $5 / 5€. We believe that by reducing the barriers to entry, we are providing a better user experience for your readers and therefore increasing your overall conversion rate.
Short answer: No, they do not have to have an account to unlock access to a single post (if you are using the Pay Later option).
If you would like them to register, here are a few different options:
1) Select a larger single post price ($1.99+ or 1.49€+) and select “Pay Now.” This will require the users to register and pay immediately.
2) In your WordPress site, navigate to Settings > LaterPay & check the very first checkbox, “Require User Login before Purchase” then click Save at the bottom of the page. This will require all users to login to LaterPay even before a “Pay Later” purchase.
