Does a plugin exist to use Sphinx for search?

Hi guys. I’m new to this forum so my apologies up front if this isn’t quit the right place. I searched and googled and didn’t find what I was looking for so here goes.

Does a plugin exist that will make the WP search use the Sphinx fulltext search engine (assuming it’s there?). Info on Sphinx is here

I’m considering putting one together if it doesn’t already exist, and I didn’t find one after hunting for a bit, so I thought I’d ask here. If there’s already one out there I’d like to check it out first to see if I’d just be wasting my time. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!
